SRS Light

Hi peeps,

Got a p-reg (1997) Volvo S40 - got it 2 days ago - and the SRS light is permantly on when Im driving - I know this usually means take it to a Volvo dealer but I can't be bothered and im sure there is a way to clear the light myself !

Can anyone help ????

How can I clear the light - and / or read the fault codes and clear them...

Any help most grateful...

The best thing you could do would be bring it to the dealer.They should charge 1 hr labor to check and clear the code.You could go out and spend several hundred dollars and buy a scan tool that will read srs codes and clears them.

Im in Great Britain Mate...

Yeah could take it to a dealer - just they rip you off over here...

On most other cars - you can do some sorta tweaks and clear the fault urself - and read the codes e.t.c. - just wondered if this was the case for the Volvo S40 - really want dealer to be last resort...

Someone over in them neck of the woods may know a trick but I dont'.They were not avalible here in the U.S, till 2000.They are all computer based for pulling codes here.
