I notice cars. It used to be my life. I notice very few Volvo cars down here. I am in an extreme minority.

Found a 2008 S60! Love it. Thought I wasn't going to get it for a good price. It seemed to be fair enough.

It's not perfect. (82000 miles)

I hope with some good mechanical love it can last this family of 5 many thousands of miles.

I hit 259,000 Miles earlier this afternoon; but there was some maintenance involved.

I'm about to get the Timing Belt replaced for the 4th time; but I'm not complaining.

I changed the Heating Element in the Driver's Seat earlier this year; but being in Mississippi, you probably don't ever use that.

Good Luck . . . . that vehicle is barely broken in !

I am glad to hear that. Most of the time when you mention Volvo to somebody in my small town they usually screw their face up into a grimace like they are smelling the north side of a south bound mule!

Most mechanics are agreed that the S60 is a long lived auto but, they will not work on them.

So, all of the maintenance is going to be left unto me. Its not a problem, I have a lengthy mechanical background in the Nissan world. Now, I just have to learn to speak Swedish!

I have never had a volvo yet that didnt make it to 200,000 miles (though the old 440's with renault engines didnt usually go much past that)my 850 got to 265,000 miles and was still running well when I got rid of it (new clutch and exhaust manifold needed - so cheaper to replace with a younger 120,000 mile car). if you keep on top of the servicing they seem to go on forever.

I just hope that the maintenance bill would out strip the payments for a new Chevy or a Japanese import. That is my biggest fear. I bought the Volvo Counting on excellent european engineering. I hope it proves to be as good as its Asian counterparts. Even they need maintenance.

Time will tell. I am rooting for the little Voe!
