I just found out about the class action lawsuit and it looks like it's been settled. Is there a plan to try and file another one? Is that possible? I sent an email to the law firm that settled the first one because I was never notified and I would have definitely joined. I have a 2015 Volvo XC70 that I replaced the engine on. $7000 gone and I think the replacement engine is going to do the same thing. I'm furious! My email address: lauraheintzman@gmail.com

My CPO 2016 XC60 is currently at the dead at the dealership. It was tested for the oil consumption issue in May 2023 and qualified. It was put on the "waiting list" for the piston replacement in July 2023. Every oil change we have been told it's still on the waiting list and it won't hurt it to drive if I keep putting oil in it when the light comes on. In January 2025, it went in for 100k maintenance and oil change, they told us it was "16th on the list" and would likely be up for the replacement in August. It needed a new battery, which they had to order. On the way back to the dealership for the battery replacement in February the engine failed. The car has now been parked at the local Volvo for a month and they just keep saying it will be 2-3 months before they can take it apart to see if the damaged cylinder is because of the pistons - and Volvo will cover the engine replacement - or not and it will be $24k. They would not provide a rental car. This dealership told me I could try towing it to a different Volvo dealership (where I bought it) and see if they can get it in sooner and provide me with a rental car. I called Volvo corporate customer service and they told me the Quality Bulletin qualification only applies to the dealership where it was tested and not to move it. If there is information about an action on this, please let me know too.
