Hi,
Just changed my venerable rusting 240 for a clean 740.
Quite pleased now I,ve carried out initial TLC like oil change, injector service, tyres, oiling and greasing.
The only problems come from behind instrument panel. Erratic fuel gauge, temperamental speedo. fluctuating dial illuminations.
Is there a common cause for all these faults, if so how do I fix it.
Cheers
Tony.

Thanks, I can see back of cluster after removing bottom cover but space is to small to get fingers in! Not obvious how to gain access otherwise. Have you any advice how to remove cluster?
Cheers, Tony

Remove clips from dials(illumination and clock dials) and you will reveal 2 screws.Screw these off and remove cluster although yours may be tight due to cable ties.

mine is tight. it could be the dash itself, i have a tempermental fuel guage too ... tho it goes weird when i move the gearstick (auto) so i assume it could be wiring loom.
