My 1999 V70 Petrol 2.5 10V has an intermitent start problem. It always fires cleanly but sometimes cuts out after about a half a second to a second. The RPM rises to about 1500 rpm and then dies suddendly just as if the engine had been switched off. It has never done this from being properly cold and appears to be more suscetible to the problem when the engine was last run about 30-60 mins previously. It always starts when hot. It can fail to start for as little as 3 or a couple of dozen attempts. Once it does start it runs smoothly with no missing and performs well. There are no adverse indications from the instruments. It has done 95000 miles and was serviced 1500 miles ago with the correct grade of synthetic oil. Can anybody help please?
