Can anyone help me with an intermittent starting problem that has just started to cost us, with no fix to date. Problem is when starting car from cold, it will turn over 1-2 seconds and then stop turning over altogether. This will happen for several turns of the key until eventually it starts. When it starts, it will be in winter mode (is automatic gearbox) and warning lights on for 'Tracs off' and 'ABS'. These drop off after 5-10 seconds of running, then car runs fine until the next time we try to start, and it may show the same fault (less likely after longer journey). Already had inhibitor switch changed which gave temporary relief, but a week later now back with same problem. Battery tested and shows fine, but not convinced. Any views appreciated.

Next time it happens try to put the car in neutral and see if it starts then.
If it does then the park neutral position sensor might be bad.(PNP)

Or there is a bad connection somewhere.
