So today I was driving on the highway today and all of a sudden the "service transmission" light came on. I came to a stop and from acceleration if felt VERY sluggish but fine once it was moving.

It was dark so i couldnt check fluid but i am planning on doing that first thing tomorrow. Where is the fill up for the tranny? i know where the dip stick is.

So initial guess... am I screwed or could this be a valve or software?

aye the "service transmission" light doesn't necessarily mean it's a transmission problem, but general engine problem.
If the codes pulled indicate a turbine speed sensor, then there you have it.

If she's feeling slugish, possible the turbo isn't performing as it should, either it's a little poorly or it's controller is....one for the mechanic's. Hopefully it's just a sensor/controller problem, if the turbo needs replacing then it's going to cost a few bob.

vipes.

def not the turbo because it is happening down low... in this case turbine refered to the tranny... also called the transmission speed sensor

not too concerned about the part HOWEVER it is between engine and tranny so it needs to be pulled... labor is the issue

well my mechanic said that he couldnt do anything for it and I would have to take it into the dealership. my mechanic said it is most likely software... I dont htink the car has ever had a software update... anyone know how much this will run me?
