Hi!

I just purchassed a 1994 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon w/ 163k.

Any idea how much it should cost to replace the timing belt? It seems to be a consensus that it should have been replaced at 140k.

The car runs fine. Anything else I should look out for?

It should be replaced every 70,000 MILES om not sure about KM.
You can follow the link it gives a pretty good description about replaceing the belt.If you have anymore quiestions just post back and I will reply.

Are you sure the belt wasn't replaced?

Anyway, just had my timing-belt replaced last Monday.
What a relief!


Unfortunately Tech, I wasn't able to take the day off, due to work commitments.

Yeah, i kinda figure that as well. But the mechanic asked for two days, since the oil seals were also affected. So, they had to drop the gearbox, and that was why it took two days. And quite a big bill, too.

Oh, btw, this is a different mechanic. Not the one that let me see everything that they did.

I had no choice as the former was booked solid for the next few weeks, and since they only opne shop on weekends, the kind of people who thronged their place is well...
