Let's say I purchase an Info Centre switch out of a wrecked S40, will it plug straight in (ive noticed a largish loom just sitting behind where it would go in the dash) or are there other parts I would need? I can easily access the switch from the wreckers, but if there's more stuff I need to pull out it might be a different story. Thanks

I think you might just be able to plug it and go.If you can get it really cheap I would say to go for it.Most of the sensors it uses should already be on the car for other functions for the computer.

My friend wants info centre in his 200 S40 1.6 but I always thought it would be hassle cause you would have to replace the speedo cause on that year and mine the display screen is below the fuel and engine temp gauge.

i have a 1998 1.8i and mine doesn't have an info centre in the gauges, could i just put one in out of an s40/v40 that does have one? i've also noticed that above the radio there is a small recess and on the front of that it says 'Info' plus there is a reset button, is this something to do with it too?

i just spoke to a volvo specialist who told me that if your volvo doesn't already have info centre it can't be retrofitted, the wiring is all different plus certain sensors won't be present.
