There is an orange engine light displayed on the dashboard since yesterday afternoon.

Should anyone be knowledgeable about what it is for, kindly assist

if it is in the shape of an engine, that is the check engine light, and means you should get the engine checked / codes read to find out what it means.
otherwise we will need a better description of the light as there can be many lights that are orange, the symbol displayed on the light will tell us the cause.
