NZ Volvo owner would like help

Hello I have just bought a 1987 volvo 760 GLE. The ABS light on the dash wont go out Ive had the ABS tested and its working fine. The fuel gauge does not work. More than the tail light comes on when the brake pedal is pressed. Its possible all theese 3 problems are related to the Earth?
Anyone have any sugestions.
