So far so good on my new volvo v50 t5. I have some seat and climate package, no leather, good stereo, no sunroof but a cool spring loaded dog rack.

First impressions: When I leave my house I always encounter some stop and go traffic to get out of the inner city. The springy clutch is giving me a bit of a challenge driving smoothly. It's nothing like any car I've ever owner and it makes me feel like a rookie.

I test drove the 2005 v40 2.4 and the clutch was totally normal. Then I test drove the t5 automatic and I liked the extra power. So I ordered the t5 standard, and the clutch is a completely new experience.

I'm only on my second day driving it, so I'm sure I'll grow to love it, but I don't understand the benefit of the springy clutch.

Does anyone have any ideas? To me it just seems to make the ride less smooth.

Mike
