After moving to US from Europe I finally had to give in and learn to drive at the ripe old age of 38. We bought a 1995 Volvo 960 sedan. It is a great car to drive... But (isn't there always a but?), the CD changer in the trunk keeps freaking out and stops playing CDs with an EEEE error message on the SC-710 stereo. It is unplayable for up to a couple of hours, then will play for a random amount of time before suddenly deciding to stop and repeating the error message.

I spoke to someone in an audio shop and in a car repair shop (we live in the middle of nowhere, eastern Washington, so not much choice) and they said "buy a new stereo".

Does anyone here have a slightly greener and cheaper option? When it works, it's great!

First of all welcome to the forum.Second you could try to replace the din cable from the radio to the c/d changer. If not the c/d changer would be my next guess.
Hope this helps.
