Hi
I test drove the XC90 yesterday and was very impressed. Have decided to trade in my current BMW X5 for a new model. However the one downside was power which, understandably for a smaller engine, was lacking compared to the X5. The local Volvo dealer mentioned that a more powerful XC90 was due to be released in the US but not currently planned for release in the UK.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance

Spoke to my local dealer again. Understand the 4.4 or 4 litre version of the XC90 is destined for the US market some time next year. Engine developed by Yamaha according to What Car? No firm dates / commitment from Volvo on UK release though What Car? stated a UK release would coincide with a face lift next year. No formal confirmation though.

Food for thought.. Do I wait for the more powerful version or seriously consider the new Discovery launched this month?
