I hear a noise (like a high speed fan) when I reach about 60K/hr from the front. It goes to a higher pitch when the car reaches about 80-90K/hr. I have not noticed any abnormal wear on my wheels. Is this because the front bearing are gone? they say replace including the hub?

Would appreciate comments from those that have similar experience.

It is either a bad tire or the front wheel bearing. You can try to rotate the tires and see if the noise is still there. If it is then there is a bad bearing.Replacing the bearing does require replacing the hub it comes as one peice.

trouble is this incompetence is quite normal so that gets back to the problem I see in getting too complex with digital control

there is no way I would let such a greese monkey who cant even replace a wheel bearing telling me I can get a 32.45% power boost by "installing some new software"

Did he say he could do that to your 6-cylinder? How exactly?

Just curious.
