My odometer only runs from time to time and does apparently need replacement. Can anyone tell me how to remove the instrument panel so that I can get to it? Any drawings (240, 1991) would be very much appreciated.

Sorry no pics but start by removing the headlight and dimmer knobs by just pulling on them. Then remove the cover to gain access to the 2 screws. Then on the other side remove the 2 plastic panels to gain access to the other 2 screws. Then it should slide out.

Pay close attention to all the wires and make sure you mark them when removing them.

Thank you. I did that, but sliding the thing out is less easy than you say. It needs force, especially because there is a steering wheel in the way. It is in fact impossible. Shouldnt I remove some more?

When you slide it out turn it up.It can be taken out without removing the steering wheel. It just takes a little playing with but it will come out.

I found that the panel comes out easiest if the steering wheel is turned perfectly horizontal.
Gotta love the fact that the speedo is electronic, so much simpler.
