Hi, new to the forum, wonder if anyone can help.
I have just purchased a V70 2.4 2002, the car is my first Volvo,
I love the car, the only problem I have with it, is the lock on the fuel door has been broken, I have tried getting to it from inside the car, I have removed the interior cover, but the fuel door is still behind the metal of the car,
anyone know how to get to the mechanism to see why its not locking.

Thanks Ian.

You should be able to gain access through the trunk.

You do know that is doesn't lock as soon as you lock the car don't you?

It takes a while for it to lock.I think if you go over 30MPH it will lock or it is like 20 minutes of the car sitting.

Hi Tech,

Yes I know about the delayed locking, I have head the full cap lock, but the pin does not move across to lock the flap. Even after 12 hours the flap is still unlocked.

I have removed the interior panel from the trunk, but behind that is the metal of the inner body, and the fuel cap lock mechanism is behind that, I just dont see anyway of getting behind the metal panel to work on the mechanism.

Ian.
