I have a bad ass grill for the front of your S40. It is custom and I make them here in my shop. I have pictures of my 04.5 S40 that I installed the custom Grill on. I can send you some pictures if you are interested. Because the grill I fabricated is custom, your car will be very original. Let me take some pictures for you and I will post them on this site when I get a chance. On my 04 1/2 S40 T5 I actually put the grill on the top and on the bottom to give a more muscular look. I think its very custom and haven't seen another Volvo like it.

I must admit I like the 2003 s40 grill more so I put one on my 2001 s40 but they cost about £70 quid froma volvo dealer, but I think its well work it

Hi. i know its an old string, but....
did you ever find a source for an egg crate grille? I want one as well for a 2001 S40. they have more appeal than the standard grille. I assume that I can go to dealer and just buy a 2003 grille but im afraid of cost. Obviously need to make sure a 2003 will fit on a 2001 as well.

Im definately a little late on the post but wanted to add that i purchased the 2003 checker style grill without the badge from eurosporttuning.com and had a pretty good experience.. i basically wanted the same grill my 2003 s40 had stock but i wanted it de-badged and they had exactly that, along with some other performance and styling parts. unfortunately they sent me the wrong grill but when i called the phone number i spoke to a live person and he resolved the issue within minutes! he sent me the correct grill and provided me his ups account number so that no extra shipping and handling would be my responsibility!! Just thought i would share!!
