My wife's 2001 S40 has the following DTC: P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction. It was raining really really hard and all of the sudden the winter "arrow " started flashing and the check engine light came on. The car drives fine with no concerns. Do you think that maybe some water got in the trans. harness some how and caused this DTC? Is there a way to turn off the check engine light other than the dealer. I don't have any DTC software for my labtop yet to be able to turn it off myself.

Thanks for any advice, Rick

You will need to find someone that has a scanner that reads the car.

It might also need a software upgrade.
