I just picked up a 2002 s60 awd on Friday. I went to pick up my best friend for a drive. I had the doors locked, so when he approched the car I leaned over and pulled the door handle from the inside to let him in. I instantly heard a pop, but the doorlock button did not pop up. I pulled up the button and he was able to open the door. Unfortunately, the interior door handle no longer disengages the door latch and he had to roll down the window to open the door with the exterior handle. Please tell me that this is repairable by me, inexpensive to have repaired, or a recall item.
You have to get in there and look at the lock. The cable might have just popped off or the tabs on it broke. You won't know for sure till you get in there.

thanks,
I'll bet getting in there requires special tools or very small hands. Though I'd rather not sound like a "girly man", I think I'll take it back to the Volvo dealer.
It is auctually pretty easy.Remove the cover on the door panel where you pul the door to close it.There will be 2 t-25 screws in there.Remove the clips around the bottom of the door panel by pushing the center peice in one click. Then you can remove the clips.Remove the black cover behind the mirror on the inside of the door. Then you should be able to lift up on the door panel to remove it.The inner door handle cable just snaps into the inner door handle. The door handle stays with the door panel.
