A warning light came on today on my S60 "bulb failure, dipping lights". What does this mean.. does it mean the low intensity bulbs need replacement? Thanks

Hi,

I had a similar problem a few months ago.

In the S60 owner's manual there should be some pictures showing you exactly which bulbs are 'dipping lights' and detailed instructions how to replace them. As far as I remember they are located the in the headlights next the full beam bulbs.

It took me some effort to disconnect the wires from the bulb; the connector was sitting pretty tight and you need to be careful not to damage it.

Turn the headlights in the dark. You should be able to find the faulty bulb.
(The owners manual is usually located in the glovebox
)

Hope this helps!

It's 55W.

I'd replace both of them, not just the failed bulb. You may find just replacing one - the bulb failure warning won't go away. It works on measuring the resistance - and the now "older" bulb will have a much great difference in resistance than the newer bulb.
Having said that - this problem usually occurs with the rears.
