I am new to this site and would appreciate your thoughts. I have recently been informed that a leak in the cooling system is from a crack in the engine. In order to find the leak, it is necesary to remove the manifold (a $600 job). Originally the dealership thought it was a leaky head gasket. If only!! The temportry solution is cleaning the area and filling the crack with a heat resistant epoxy. Best guess is a 50% chance of long tern success. A couple of questions. Does anyone know if cracks in 1998 S-70 engine bloc could be a manufacturing defect? Have there been repair bulletins regarding this problem? Any thoughts on where to get a new engine w/o breaking the bank?
