I've taken off the large intake hose and would very much appreciate advice as to what to do to clean the throttle body. Should I spray carb cleaner and just wipe or is there more to it?

Are you a New Zealander living in America?

May I recommend that you don't touch anything about the throttle body until you have very clear instructions from one of the guru's here? That topic appears often in here.

Remove it from the intake and clean it out good and reinstall it with a new gasket.

I like to clean them with some carb cleaner and an old toothbrush (or my Wifes current toothbrush, if I am REALLY angry with her
). Clean both sides of the 'Butterfly' and any passages (sometimes spraying alot in and shaking it around). For heavy build up, I use a soft towel wet with cleaner, but be careful not to leave any 'threads' pinched inside.
