Bumper Cover Repair Question

2233 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Voltage
Hi, helpful folks. My wife backed into a mailbox in my 2009 C70, doing some damage to the rear bumper cover. I'm unsure what the best way to fix this is. Could I glue or epoxy the loose flaps down and the missing chip (which I still have) in place? If so, how would I weatherproof the gaps and make them look ok without having to repaint the whole thing? Or should I pull the cover and do a full-on repair (or have it repaired)? Any suggestions appreciated!

Hi there! Sorry to hear about your car. It's always tough when something like that happens. In terms of fixing the damage to your rear bumper cover, I would recommend taking it to a professional to get their opinion on what would be the best course of action. Depending on the extent of the damage, it may be possible to glue or epoxy the loose flaps and missing chip back into place. However, it's important to make sure that the repairs are done properly and that the bumper cover is weatherproofed to prevent any future issues. If you're unsure about how to do this, it's always better to err on the side of caution and take it to a professional. They'll be able to assess the damage and give you a better idea of what needs to be done to fix it. Good luck with everything!
