Hi

On my V70 02 if you look through the mag wheels there is a part that is attached to the rotor that looks rusted on all four wheels. The rotor face is fine because of the pads friction? Am l right so far.

What can l do even if it's to replace whatever it is.

You could PAINT it!

Same thing is you could do the same to the caliper...
And make it look really nice...

You can paint it.

But being in Jersey you will always have some rust.

Believe me I know I used to live there as well.

My ’04 V70R exhibited the same rust on all wheels as you described within 8 months. Took it into the dealer and had them change out the rotors under warranty after consistent pressure. I immediately cleaned them and painted with “Eastwoods” high temperature brake caliper coating system. Painted them Silver because I couldn’t match the R’s caliper color. That was over a year ago and they still look good.
