good evening.

i'm a new member to the forum and am looking forward to obtaining advice and adding my own experiences.

i'm turning this 223k mile wonderful car over to my new-driver son. he loves it, but would like it better with a cd changer. trouble is, i can't quite figure out where and how volvo mounted cd changers in a wagon.

i suppose it could go in the storage wells behind the rear wheels, but i don't see an obvious mounting point or mechanism.

has anyone had experience or can offer insight into this dilemma? in addition, can anyone point me to a like-new volvo original changer or a good quality aftermarket?

thanks for your interest and support.

Volvo sold the CD changer together with mounting plates. It was mounted in the right-hand wheel well: if you plan to mount it left-side, the original changer cable still sold by Volvo will be too short.

But hte changer also will be well if packed into the well with a bit of foam, a friend of mine has it mounted that way for over two years (and about 100000 miles)

Also the glove compartment was another place that was used.
