91 240 Wagon Blows A Brake Lght Fuse

Thanks for previous help!..so now when i put on the brakes the brake fuse blows in about 5 seconds..ive read where it could be the round relay thingy under the streering wheel...i cant afford to relace it..cant i just bypass it if its the problem???? ive already checked all the brake light connections and bulbs..... i need a simple solution...thanks!!!

I always check the ground strap/lead from the tailgate to the body near the hinges. it can cause issues if it is loose or corroded.

I would also check the switch on the brake pedal to make sure those two wires are not grounding or touching each other.

hope that helps some.

Open the tailgate and see if it persists. If doing that changes the problem, you have your culprit.

If I'm dumb enough to drive with my tailgate up all hell breaks loose. Yes, I need to replace both sides...

I think you might require replacing the wiring. Take it to the dealer and get it checked
