Hi,

I'm trying to get my partners 850 Estate 100% sorted prior to fitting LPG. The temp gauge has for some time read anything from 1/3rd from bottom to ded centre to a little over centre. It's currently tending to read slightly over 1/3rd from bottom at a steady 55mph wit han ambient air temp of around 8 deg C. Is this a faulty sensor, a design 'feature' or is it likely the thermostat needs replacing. If the latter is this expensive or a straightforward operation?

First check the thermostat.
Then check the sensor and make sure the fan comes on.

Changing thermostat needs a little opening --> Still considered relatively straightforward.

Changing temperature sensor --> Very straightforward.

Good luck!

Hi,

Many thanks! I think I'll get the garage to change the thermostat and see what happens ;-)
