Ongoing for over a year.
Began with battery replacement, then alternator replaced. Car still wouldn't start with new alternator and battery. Then another battery replaced. After 3rd, he said it was the starter, said NO! Got car back to shop and they realized I wasn't going for a new starter. Now they said something might be draining battery. Let them know maybe the radio because it goes off and on by itself.
Sent to another shop for diagnostics, it's been there since Thursday. Tells me Friday, there are 2 problems,
1 is radio, 2nd is they put wrong size battery, too small! 3 times!!! Since it was a holiday, can't contact shop till tomorrow.
What recourse do I have with first shop?
Hopefully I will have Vera back tomorrow.
This has been a nightmare!

A couple of thoughts.

1) I'm not sure whether the car security system has a cutout to stop the car from starting. Maybe worth a check. It is a fact that a bad siren/security unit will drain the main battery. The siren batteries leak and corrodes the electronics.

If its does have a cut out feature you can isolate the security by pulling its 5 Amp fuse and removing the siren. Should start then.

If it does not have a cutout then this Idea would not related to non-starting when a brand new battery is first introduced.

2) Does your car turnover? If not, I had a starter motor which needed a good clean especially the commutator where the brushes fit. Easy job to remove and take apart and clean. Only one small issue was re-inserting the end plate with its brushes. I held each of the brushes in place/pulled back with cotton and once the backplate was 3/4 in place I cut and pulled the cotton out with long nosed pilers. Worked great.
