The under floor petrol pump has become very noisy recently although it is not affecting performance I am beginning to worry as I take my car to the Continent 4 or 5 times a year & a breakdown in a foriegn country presents big problems.
Your in-tank pump fuse may be blown. Many times the fuse oxidizes over the years and will blow under normal loads. It will pull 7-7.5 amps when cold at start up, so it will blow a oxidized 8amp fuse. If you have voltage at the pump it's probably the pump gone bad, but it can also be the fuel pump relay making contact but not providing sufficient current to power the pump. Check the relay for burned contacts. Good luck
