I have had my 2001 V70 since it had 25,000 miles. I have wanted to run this vehicle for a long time. I have taken excellent care of it, and all I have been doing is replacing everything on it. I travel for a living and no longer trust this vehicle to get me to and from long destinations without something going down. I have replaced the radiator, radiator fan. Transmission Valve body, brakes, alternator, battery, exhaust, shocks, tires, and now throttle control module, oh yeah and fuel pump. Car has 83,000 and I hope to dump it and get something like a Subaru or something japanese you can drive and not have a more intimate relationship with your mechanic than you have with your wife. What happened to Volvo??? I had a Ford SHO before this that I thought was terrible. The Volvo is close to turning into it's equal. Buy something else, even if it is safe.

Sorry to read of your woes, Jon.

But a car is still a machine, and by that definition, it breaks down.

I understand the feeling and can sometimes 'feel' your emotions.
