Hi guys

just wondering if anyone knows the cambelt change interval on a 2001 V40 1.9TD. We pick the car up at the end of the week, it has done 86k miles and suspect the cambelt needs doing now.

Have a price of £295 from a garage in Bedford for a 80k service and cambelt change... does anyone know of any other garages in Beds/Herts/Bucks/Essex/North London that could do the work circa this price?

Cheers

Pillings in Hemel gave me reasonable service on my 440 with I lived in that neck of the woods. I've no idea about the costs they are a main dealer so not the cheapest.

In my personal experience avoid the Slough dealership, I had my car serviced there once, and discovered when I got it home that it would not select reverse gear. Which required a new gear box under extended warranty.

I don't know of a good independent in that area.

The 1.9 D sounds like its a Renault engine as I had in the 440, and I'd say get it changed REAL soon, I thought the service interval was around 60k on that belt ( on 440)
