Hi all,
I am new to this forum and it looks like a lot of good info here.
I have a 1986 240 DL that I just got. It has a wire loose under the hood and
I was hoping someone could tell me were it goes.
it is a single green wire(black shield )with a female spade connector on the end.
it comes into the engine compartment thru a hole between the shock mount
and the hood hinge on the drivers side. I believe it has something to do with the
gas gauge but that is just a guess. any help would be great.

That wire is normaly for 1 of 2 things. It is a starter jumper wire or a wire tp make adjustments on the car.Im gonna guess it is for the starter on your car.If you can look on your starter and see if there is 2 small wire with female spade connectors on it going to the starter. If so it is for the starter.
