I have a 1970 142S that sat for years. I cleaned the carbs, got it running, even drove it about a mile. Then it got steadily worse about running, would start one time, then wouldn't the next. I installed new plugs, points, coil, rotor, distributor cap, plug wires. Drained the fuel tank, put in fresh gas. All to no avail. Had it in a repair shop for a time. They said the carbs were bad. I cleaned up a second set of carbs, they had it started a little, but still not reliably. I still am unable to get it started. It appears the timing is good. It pumps fuel with the fuel line disconnected. The most I can get is it occasionally fires about once. I am running out of things to check. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
