I was 2 years old when my 1948 MG TC was assembled and this still runs like new, which is more than I can say for myself!

QUOTE (big_ben @ Mar 4 2005, 05:36 PM)
Two ideas come to mind,

1 us kids are more likely to be internet literate and liable to "join in"

2 the older ones may have the money to go to the garage, or a lack of enthusiasm to get under the bonnet (hood?) and this place does get technical at times (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

seventy-five here and you're right on both items. But speaking for myself, started wrenching in 1961 wanting to shovel a V8 into a Jag 140.I've been a British and Volvo mech, then a Volvo service advisor then service mgr. Now have a Volvo mech who does my work in the shop but on the side. If I had to pay retail I would probably start crawling around on the floor again (but it does stop being fun after a while!).
