I have a 1998 2.9 Auto estate held from new, regularly serviced, and all parts needed during the service being replaced with original Volvo parts. Recently, the back end has sunk, and my garage tells me that the leaf spring is giving up the ghost. I asked them to replace it, but they tell me that the part is now obsolete. I have tried to find one on-line, maybe find one held is a garage's back cupboard, or one that has been bought by someone and for whatever reason they have still got it. Can anyone help me? I love this car, and don't want to just throw it away. It has just passed its MOT, because apparently the sagging has not yet hit the "bumps", but obviously it will at some point, and I want to get it fixed before this happens. PLEASE HELP?

if you have the original as a model there are places around the UK that manufacture new leaf springs from the bars of steel (I used to buy the raw bar from them to make re-enactment swords).
eg http://www.gmesprings.co.uk/ in birmingham, coventry and sheffield.
these places should be able to make you up new springs as good as oEM (or probably better)
they may even be able to reshape and retemper your existing ones.

Thank you for the link for a new spring, but the V90 has a carbon composite leaf spring. I am not a mechanic so can I get a metal one made an then take this to a garage and ask them to fit it in place of the carbon fibre one?
