Hi I'm new to this. I've had this volvo for 4 years n have isues with 4. 9. and 10. The burning issue is, even though it cranks over that sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. Here in australia we've had 6 weeks of constant rain and is when this problem started. The NRMA (our local road service) deemed the electrics were performing correctly and spark was getting to the plugs. Two different attendants thought the problem was a fuel one.
Any ideas?
I have since found the culprit, with the help of our local auto electrician and the help of a few friends.
My Volvo friend suggested a "sticky" fuel pump relay and this was confirmed by the auto electrician after a week at his garage before the problem manifested (ho hum). My Volvo mechanic in Queensland replaced said part (which he happened to have) about 6 weeks ago and it has been problem free since. Hallelujah!

try remove and clean your throttle body and remove and clean the throttle position sensor held on by two Allen key bots.
