This particular DIN adapter would only be used if hugglebear did not have an existing factory amplifier plugged into the HU-613, but if not, then that is what would be used to get an audio signal to the sub amp.

i just bought the car and im not positive if it does have the factory amp, is there any way i can check that, also i bought a rca adapter at best buy today its called an iec auloc adjustable line output converter, it has an rca input and 6 wires a black, white, black and white, and two grey wires. I havent taken out to see the back of my head unit yet because i wanted to make sure i had all the right stuff first, should i take that back or would that work? i was also reading i might be able to just tap the back speaker wire, is that possible?

Should be fine. Just need the 3 power wires and wire up your box, good luck.

hey sorry i been outta town, ok so i got this LOC and im trying to install it. I lowerd my back seat and the passenger side the seat belt pad kinda pops out and theres a wiring harness that goes into the trunk. The question is which wire is which, i need the R Speaker + and - and the L speaker + and - so that i can tap them to the LOC and get RCA for my amp. Does anyone know what the colors for those are. also im not sure if thats even the right harness, is that the best way to access the back deck speakers or is there a better way?

Just looking at the harness and determining the wire codes is difficult without a diagram present. I would advise that you either get the wires directly off the amplifier, or use the same wires directly off the speakers. This link is for an 01,http://www.wiringdiagrams21.com/2009/02/25/2001-volvo-s60-electrical-wiring-diagram-harness-and-schematics
You could always make a DIN adapter as an alternative instead of using a linelevel converter. Either way works though.
