Hello Everyone,
I have a 1996 Volvo 850 GLT thats going through about a quart of oil every 500 mile or so. Its not smoking or no puddles under the car, so I am thinking about rebuilding the engine, but have not been able to find any master rebuild kits.
Does anyone know where I can get one?

I don't ever recall seeing one of them as such, FCP Groton sell all the bits, it might be a case of working out what bits you want and buying them in as one lot.
Would depend on what you are replacing i.e. pistons y/n, full gasket and seal kit. bearings, rings, are you doing it in or out of the car, if it's a manual the clutch would need checking etc., etc.
It's a bit like asking how long is a piece of string ???

I am planning to do it out of the car and would like to do a complete engine rebuild.
Its an automatic tranny, so the clutch is not a problem.
The real problem is that we only have two cars and my wife drives the Volvo to work during the week, so I would have to take a week off to get it done, which means that I would have to have all the pices before I start.

If you're handy with the engine (i assume you are given your quest), get the kits from your auto-supply store or to be safe, the dealer near you. And be sure to know what you would need.
