ON a 2001 Volvo V70, very little / no service history, I know head gaskets and cylinder heads can be a common very expensive issue.
I know on my old car (Nissan) I had used the head gasket repair additives and it helped. But I am wandering is there any reason to use these products as a preventative / just incase? Do they repair / rejunvenate seals.

The car only has 148,000km BUT has only driven 8,000km in the last 8 years and not much at all in the last couple of years. Over time, seals will deteriorate and dry - are they the same for head gaskets?
