Hi fellow S40ers.
Just purchased a 04.5 S40 2.4i for my wife. I know that for the 1st 30k miles all servicing is done by the dealer at 7500 mile intervals. As far as the oil goes, do I need to worry at all about checking it between services? I have other questions, but before I ask, let me read the manual first, so I don't waste members time.

Just like any other car, I think it is healthy to have a casual oil check every now and then. It will not hurt anybody, and that way you can discover any anomalies while its still time to correct them without causing any serious problems.
