I have seen this car on the Trade Me site for several months. The price has never altered.

When you modify a car as much as that, you effectively reduce the number of buyers for that particular car when you have finished with it. Obviously, we don't know how many offers have already been declined on it-that will always give you some idea of the market for that type of car. But, for $7995.00, obviously, the buyers are getting better value elsewhere.

Am I the seller?!? Oh heck no! Now, I may be inclined to one day mod a Volvo, or some other car for that matter, but to make the mod of putting in a huge, petrol guzzling, crappy 305?!? Never!!

Also, on the thought of things on trademe not moving very fast...

I'm noticing that there is a whole lot of what can only be described as seller greed here, not just on cars, but on pretty much everything! I mean, at any given time there are about a 1000 used mobile phones for sale, and when I say used I mean scratched, damaged, or even faulty, and usually 3 years old! No big deal, except the average seller doesn't want to take much less thatn about 75% of retail for anything, and for some reason people seem to pay it.

Frankly, I don't get it.
