We bought a 2006 V50 T5 about a month ago, and have been very happy with it. While we are mainly city drivers, we've had a few chances to take it out on the highway into the upper gears.

Regarding 6th gear - I do have what might be a silly question. Since 6th gear is located in some reasonable proximity to reverse, and reverse doesn't require any separate manipulation of a trigger to engage, should I be at all worried about accidentally slipping into reverse instead of 6th at 75 mph?

Any advice is appeciated.

I've got the same box in my R, although maybe the configuration is different (and also we have ours on the left, of course). The gates are nice and tight, but I dont think that there is any chance of putting it into reverse accidentally, even if it was possible. you are much more likely to drop it from 6th into 3rd by mistake, and then watch the tacho needle go off the dial!
