I'm pissed; yesterday I decided to go with my wife on some bike trails along the Ohiopyle River in PA. I drove on this winding road. I got around a corner on top of a hill and 2 inches in diameter branch lies on the road. I wasn't driving fast at all 40 to 45 miles/hr but can't avoid it. The front tire run over it and next thing you know I ear that loud bang on the driver’s side door.
I hoped it was only a scratch but no it had to be a dent. Even worth it’s only a slight dent making it difficult to know what to do.

I’m very frustrated because I spend a lot of time trying to keep this car in new condition. I hand wash and wax the car regularly. It is not yet a year old car and now it has this dent on the side that makes me feel I’m driving an 8 years old car.

Many will say it’s not much at all. It’s about 3 inches long and it looks like a fold in a piece of paper that you can’t remove even after try to flatten the sheet of paper. My car is black in color and it’s about 2 niches under the front door handle. It’s a really distracting spot and I can’t stop looking at it every time I get to the car.

Does anyone have experience with that kind of repair? Does anyone know how much fixing that kind of dent might cost?
Is it going to be more expensive because it is a door and you can’t just simply change the panel?
Is it worth the expense if I ever want to sale the car?
Would most people even get in the trouble of fixing it?
Should I go to the dealer since the car is under warranty and they know better how to fix a 2005 model or should I go to any bodyshop?

Any feedback might help me decide what to do.
Thanks,

Greg
