I recently bought a power inverter that I'd like to install in my '05 XC90. In addition to the standard 12V connections, the inverter has a single lead that is supposed to be wired to the ignition key switch to act as a remote 'power on' for the inverter so it wont drain the battery.

To make things worse, the documentation doesn't tell me what kind of signal it's expecting. It is only a single wire though.

Does anyone have any idea where I should be wiring this into? I haven't ripped apart the SUV yet to check to see what's available on the column or anything. THe documentation says I should wire it into the head unit(?) but this doesn't seem right to me.

Any help would be appreciated.
