Hi,
have heard stories that aftermarket fitment of HIDs to the S40 will inturn 'fry' the ECU. So only the original HID kit (expensive) from Volvo can only be accpeted by the car.

Story is that after the install the HID will not lit, after reinstalling the OEM halogen bulbs, the car will not start. After a check, a replacement ECU would be required.

any truth behind this?
