A recent check revealed my rear pads were down to the limit so decided to order some. Determined to stick to volvo originals i turn to the web and track some down for £48 + postage. Next to ebay and i've got the price down to £42 delivered :)
Just about to order but always up for a laugh i call the local deales! Obviously taking the P*** they quote me..........£32 inc VAT :haha:
Fuming at their lack of respect in believing i would take there word for it i jump on the motorbike and im there within 20 mins. Its a hot day and kitted up i approach a guy in the car park and shout through my helmet "wheres the parts department?" He calls me sir, leads me to a cool showroom and goes to get the parts guy. 30 seconds later the guy appears with my pads (he had put to one side and was ready), offers me a seat, lets me inspect the genuine pads and charges me the £32. He didnt even treat me to a dirty look as i handed the plastic over!
What is wrong with these people???? I am British...and without crap service i have nothing to have a good old British moan about. Dealers....cheaper than the web....polite.....efficient......what the hell is this country coming too :haha:

Seriously though in this sad life it actually made my day, its the first time i have found main dealers to be cheaper and more efficient on anything for any make of vehicle, and a lesson never to overlook the first place you should be checking (even if only for refference purposes), and not to believe everything you read on the web (some sites were claiming £55-£60 at the dealers)

Another point to add is when i first called they asked for my reg no. and from that told me my cars vital statistics and cross referenced part numbers to make sure i got the right stuff. I dont think thats too bad for a 12 year old car that hasnt seen a main dealer for some time.
