If you take it to the dealer, you will pay(both fronts) approx. $250 if they resurface the rotors.

If you do it yourself, a better grade of pads from Autozone, etc. will cost you $50-$100.00

Changing the pads is one of the easier DIY jobs. Just be sure and replace the pads with the same type of pad(organic, metalliac, semi-metalliac, or ceramic) based on the original pads.

Some DIY believe that the rotors should not be turned unless you have vibration ,warpage, and the minimum thickness left on the rotor.

Personally, I use this as an earmark and don't ever turn the rotors. It is inexpensive(DIY) to buy new rotors($50-100 ea.) so that the new pads and new rotors a married together nicely.

If you go to a CarX, or Midas, preinspect your rotors for glazing and gouging and talk to the mechanic about the thickness. Ask him to show you if the rotors are in good shape and are above the minimum thickness spec. If you go into one of these places blind, they will want to sell you new rotors automatically and you could end up with a $500 repair bill
