My s90 has driver seat issue - the automatic seat will not go back and forth - the left side will - but limited - the right side seems to have an obstruction.

I removed the seat to look for coins blocking the track..... doesn't seem to be that.
Are there 2 motors (one for the left side and one for the right side of the drivers seat) maybe it's my right motor that is shot????

Or maybe not. Maybe it's still something blocking the "gear track" under the seat?

Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Mcribbs - I finallyhad my Volvo Tech take a look at it - fortunately for you and me - this is an easy out - but a little time consuming.

It's the cable that goes to the track on the right side of the seat - apparrently a somewhat common isue - the cable gets stretched out. The cable did notneed replaced - he inserted a piece of metal - the same size as the wire in the cable that wil keep it from disconnecting in the future.

Took about an 1 1/2 hours in the HOT Richmond sun.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much for your update. Did this require removing the seat?

Yes - not to difficult. look for the wire that feeds the "center motor".

Goodluck!

Hi!
I have the exact same problem, only in the passenger seat.
BTW, Dalechner, are you possibly from Bavaria?

Same here with the passenger seat. I've tried removing the seat, but it was really hard. I think part of the problem is that I can't get to the bolts holding the seat in, b/c the seat won't move... and I can't make the seat move, b/c I can't remove the seat... joy.
