Planned to remove front rotors today to have them turned and replace pads all to stop braking vibration. Can anyone tell my if the 36mm nut holding the rotor on has standard or reverse threads? Seems to be very tight in either direction and want to be sure before putting much torque on the nut. Thanks, Ken

Brain dead Saturday, Sorry. Guess I'm stuck in the 50's thinking. Went back to the garage and the rotor had fallen off and was laying in the floor. Dumb.. Ken

Well, this is along the same lines: how do you get the rear rotors off?
I took out the pins and lifted the brake caliper, not so gently knocked on the rotors with a hammer, but they wouldn't budge.
I assume I have to release the parking brake somethow?

I've been trying to remove my rear rotor too. I got the big hammer out, even heated the rotor up. Its loose, but the e-brake doesn't want to let go. I can pull it off about a 1/4" but then the e-brake spring pulls it back. Help! I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.

The e-brake pads are holding the rotors on. Rust builds up behind the e-brake on the rotor and makes it difficult to remove. You can spray oil behind the rotor, but you will just have to pull and pry to get them off.

hey... .u don't have to remove 36mm bolt..
as long as you remove caliper... the rotor will be removed...
pull it with your hand... it's snap...

The rotor comes off without removing the big nut.

had clicking noise coming from the rear. remove the caliper and find that the parking brake shoe was off. actually it is the brake material not the steel shoe. can i use adhesive to re-seat or must i replace the entire shoe?
